Kik is used by more than 300 million registered users where people can chat with friends and connect with chat-based services. Since our company’s founding in 2009, we have raised US$120.5 million from investors including Union Square Ventures, SV Angel, Valiant Capital Partners, and Spark Capital. In August 2015, Tencent – China’s largest internet company and the maker of WeChat – invested US$50 million in Kik, valuing the company at US$1 billion.

Our headquarters are in Waterloo, Ontario, close to the University of Waterloo, where Kik’s founders were students. We also have offices in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

We are looking for brilliant Senior Android Developers with strong and diverse experiences to join our team. As an Android developer at Kik, you’ll be able to leave your mark by working on the Kik native client, the core of Kik Messenger, a product that is used by over 300 million people worldwide. 

Your Impact:

• Implement new features in the Kik Messenger mobile app
• Collaborate with other teams (designers and backend engineers)
• Actively scope project requirements and delivery timelines
• Take on new areas of responsibility where needed, and come up with creative solutions to complex problems
• Mentor other developers, provide guidance and feedback on their work
• Help us continue to build a great mobile team as we grow
• Thrive in an innovative and fast-paced startup environment

Requirements

Degrees : 3 YEAR UNIVERSITY DEGREE, BACHELOR ,IT PRODUCTION/EXPLOITATION/MAINTENANCE,COMPUTER SCIENCE

Background experience : 3-5+ years of Android development experience

Sex : Indifferent

Language :

English : Fluent
French : Good

It skills : iOS SDK - RxJava

Complementary :

• 3-5+ years of iOS development experience
• Post-Secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience in full life cycle development with a deep knowledge of the iOS SDK
• Significant Objective-C and Swift experience
• Feature request analysis, design, and implementation
• Strong experience with architecting complex software systems, on top of significant experience with software design patterns
• Optimize iOS applications for maximum speed and scalability within the platform
• Cross-platform solutions experience (considered an asset)  
• Experience leading and growing teams/people
