Job description

Missions :

To drive and operate heavy duty vehicles such as tippers and trailers to transport various raw material and resources to support Al Khalij operations while attending to routine minor maintenance, ensuring strict adherence to standard operations procedures and HSE guidelines

Drive assigned vehicle to destination and deliver materials as instructed.

Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water for the safe operation of the allotted vehicle

Carry out routine, daily maintenance checks on assigned vehicles to ensure they are kept in optimum operating condition, includes daily checking of fuel, oil, water, battery, tyre pressure, brake, lights etcwhile promptly highlighting and urgent maintenance requirements to superior to corrective action.

Comply with mandatory safety codes at all times during vehicles operation, including the use of personnel protective clothing and equipment where applicable, and ensure that all personnel travelling in the vehicle comply with safety procedures.

Reports accidents or traffic contraventions to Foreman with sufficient details.

Ensure that work areas are left in a clean and hazard-free condition.

Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs in accord with defined HSE procedures.

Maintain log book as per company’s policies and procedures.

Degrees : QUALIFIED TRAINING

Minimum Qualifications:

Secondary School certification

Valid heavy duty vehicle driving license.

 

Minimum Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience in driving truck/tanker/trailer with clean driving record.

 

Job Specific Skills:

Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operations

Skill in identifying basic mechanical problems with tractor-trailer trucks.

Knowledge of local area geographical layout, traffic rules and regulations.

Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
